There are slightly different definitions of “culture” by Anthropologists and social scientists of the present day.  Most people understand that culture has something to do with the customs and beliefs of a group of people. People tconsider a holiday tradition, a spiritual belief or a child-rearing ways as part of cultural background.

 

Music

Ethiopian music is diverse, and hence we will see the most common and dominant Musical instruments of the Amhara which is one 0f the Major ethnic group in Ethiopia. Most of the traditional music instruments are indigenous and invented in Ethiopia. Masinqo, Begena, Washint, Kirar, Kebero and Embilta are some of the hand made instruments which are produced from naturally existing materials such as wood, animal skin, horsetail etc and have been used for many thousands years. In Amhara areas as well as in big cities and towns of Ethiopia Azmari (Singers) using Masinko are popular and loved by both Ethiopian and tourists.
