People of Northern Gondar, Ethiopia, Organize Themselves to Defend Against the TPLF Junta

The current unrest and the shocking Human Rights Violations in Ethiopia by the illegitimate TPLF (Ethiopian Government?) is a despicable and inhuman action. The suffering of the Ethiopian people under the lawless minority group has continued without the intervention of the International Community for the last 25 years and reached at alarming stage. The unlawful annexations of the vast  fertile Amhara State land from Gonder and Wollo by TPLF have been continued and conflicts are active in Hummera, Tsegede and Wolkait areas of North Amhara.

The invasion and, the forced removal of the indigenous Amhara people and the settlement of people from Tigres into this area and other fertile lands is one of the main causes of misery in Ethiopia. Amhara farmers have been removed from their ancestral land and replaced by People from Tigre. The new settlers that include armed TPLF militias are evicting farmers from their villages by intimidation, raping their wives, children and by destroying their cultural heritages and livelihoods.

In this video speakers are expressing their protest against the violation of the Amharas in Wolkite area. These armed representative of  the Amhara community in the area said that Wolkait/Noth Gondar belongs to the Amharas and is their ancestral land. They further revealed that the people of North Gondar have never been Tigre. They know very well their forefathers history, culture and custom.

However they have been annexed by TPLF illegally and forced to be part of the Tigray because the current regime is lead by people from that area. The other speaker also advised the government not to interfere in the people’s decision and to respect and recognise that they are Amharas. Not Tigress or Sudanese. The Amharas also asked the government to use constitution and allow them to  join the Amhara state peacefully without violence. Speakers further addressed the crowd that no one can deny or remove their Amharaness.

The second speaker also said “We were Amharas, we are Amharas, we will remain Amharas and no one can change this fact by force.” Both of the speakers also mentioned that TPLF cadres have been prohibiting speaking in Amharic and also to practice their culture and music.  According to the speakers many indigenous/Amharas have been disappeared/killed by TPLF because they insisted to practicing their culture, custom, way of life and music.
