Ethiopians in London celebrated the Annual ArchAngel St Michael’s Day (ንግስ) at the London St Mary of DebreTsion Ethiopian Orthodox Church

On 21 June 2015 Ethiopians in London celebrated the Annual ArchAngel St Michael’s Day (ንግስ) at the London St Mary of DebreTsion Ethiopian Orthodox Church. A lot of people attended the Mahlet and Qidase ceremony (ስርአተ ቅዳሴ) and holy songs and SHIBSHEBA were performed by the Clergy, women and children. Abune Mekarios from Canada Attended the celebration and congratulated the Majority members for their success in defending the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and their rights.

Abune Mekarios addressed the congregation that he has always supported the cause of St Mary Church majority members cause and deeply understands the ups and downs of the last two Years. The Holy TABOT has come out of its place and blessed the public.

Some members of the Church who had prefered to stay away from the Church because of the crisis have started to come and join the majority members. Many people say this is a good sign to isolate individuals who divide the Ethiopian Orthodox Church and its followers in collaboration with the illegitimate regime in Ethiopia. የዓመቱ ሰኔ ሚካኤል በለንደን ደብረጽን ቤተክርስቲያን ዉስጥ በከፍተኛ ድምቀት ተከበረ:: Please subscribe and like. Mr Girma another organizer reminded the large gathering that Ethiopia is a country of many long time peacefully existing nationalities with a common value, identity and pride. He further thanked forefathers for protecting the rich cultural and traditional values of all ethnic groups, their freedom, the unity and integrity of the Ethiopians people as a whole! Some participants wrapped their body by the flag to demonstrate their deep love for the flag and the unity of Ethiopia which are under continuous attack by the divisive minority ethnic based regime. The majority Church owners and other Ethiopian community members including children and the elderly used this opportunity to express their happiness and welcomed such future useful events to strengthen their unity and to discuss on bigger community as well as national issues that matter for all Ethiopians. It can be recalled that the unlawfully dislodged Majority members have regained their Church legally by Court ordered recently.
